Morgans Hotel Group offers both our staff and out guests a hip, cutting-edge experience in the world of hotel as theater. Hudson is a college campus, a town square, a piazza by the park for grown-ups. The Hotel is energetic, upbeat and a whimsical place where there is something for everyone - the heart of intimate gatherings or big, big events.



Your role will include supporting the Director of Engineering in ensuring the property`s systems are being maintained and repaired when needed and to protect the assets of the company. To lead and instruct in a professional manner with an open minded attitude following all of the Hotel`s core values.



Essential Functions:



Supervise Engineering employees

Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports

Monitor and balance budget checkbook as needed

Purchase all supplies and equipment needed for servicing the Hotel

Oversee all Engineering programs as specified in the Engineering SOP manual

Assign all workloads / Pam’s / and checklists to be completed

Physical inspections of completed work and walk through

Hands on mechanical / electrical / HVAC / type repairs and maintenance when needed

Administer all programs, policies, and procedures as specified in the Engineering SOP manual

Assigns and verifies the completion of all Repair and Maintenance activities

Communicate effectively with other department managers to keep them informed of activities concerning their departments

Assume various rolls within the Engineering department in the absence of employees

Motivate Engineering department on common goals, focus, standards and quality service

Create weekly schedules for the Engineering Department

Schedule and run all Department meetings

Written walk through of all grounds and public space areas

Coaching, counseling and training of all employees

Maintain out of order rooms to business levels

Perform monthly inventories on all Engineering supplies

Experience:



*BS degree in Engineering - Constuction/Mechanical/Electrical

*Appropriate trades certifications/licensures for Boston

*2 years experience as a Manager of Engineering

*2 years supervisor experience

*Bilingual/multi-lingual

*Lead roles in hotel openings

*OSHA- trained

*Experience in both union shop and union-free environments

*Training and staff development
